Christine Jennings, U.S. congressional candidate from Florida and a dynamic, WomenCount supported candidate, was profiled in a detailed interview today by Julie Pippert of the MOMocrats. Topics include community service, the economy, green jobs, the environment, the space program, healthcare and education.
Pippert also interviewed Governor Jeanne Shaheen (candidate for U.S. Senate) from New Hampshire at the Democratic Convention in Denver. Link and video here. They discussed campaign strategies and healthcare subjects like universal healthcare, access to reproductive services, rural health outreach, expanding children's health insurance, preventative care and chronic disease management, healthcare access for small businesses.
As Pippert noted in her post about Shaheen, "Women aren't an issue. They aren't something to notice when it benefits and ignore when it doesn't." These two women are out there running hard races in 2008 and they are working to make lives better for all Americans. MOMocrats has a category, "Run, Mama Run" where some of the women candidates for office have been featured over the past six months as well.
